People come first at Ruby Vineyard. Our team works together in the vineyard, winery and tasting room to make expressive wines for everyday and special occasions alike.
Steve Hendricks and Flora Habibi
Owners
Steve and his wife Flora had a lifelong dream of owning a vineyard and making their own wine. This dream became a reality when they purchased Beran Vineyards in 2012, one of the oldest intact original plantings in the Chehalem Mountains AVA.
Together, Steve and Flora now work on every aspect of the winemaking process at Ruby Vineyard, from driving the tractor to pouring flights for guests in the tasting room. They practice solely organic farming making wine with intent, vigilance, and as natural as possible hoping to carry forward the legacy of the Willamette Valley.
Chris Brack
Winemaker
Chris Brack is a New England native who grew up gardening and harvesting cranberries in Massachusetts. Chris started his wine journey during college when he got a job at a wine shop in downtown Boston. While he was expanding his knowledge in wine he was also learning production techniques at breweries around the city. His passion for Pinot Noir and love of the outdoors brought him to Oregon shortly after. Working his first harvest in Oregon, and internationally in New Zealand, cemented his desire to make wine.
Chris has been influenced by a decade at Montinore Estate crafting biodynamic wines. Chris worked his way up from cellar hand to Winemaker during that time. He also completed his studies through the UC Davis Viticulture and Enology program. In addition to producing many acclaimed Montinore wines, he worked closely with Anna Matzinger to develop the Landlines Estates brand in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA. After leaving Montinore Chris had the opportunity to work with Drew Voit producing wines for his label and clients.
Chris started at Ruby in 2025. He loves working with fruit from Laurelwood soil. He brings his creative energy to produce expressive wines with every passing vintage.
